Abstract:
Provided is a rotating electric machine efficiently circulating a coolant and excellent in cooling performance. The rotating electric machine (1) is provided with a coolant pumping-up mechanism provided with: a power transmission mechanism (32) for transmitting the rotational power of a rotor (18); and an impeller (30) rotated by the power transmission mechanism (32) and efficiently pumping up a coolant. The power transmission mechanism (32) is provided at one end of a first shaft (17) that is the rotating shaft of the rotor (18) and one end of a second shaft (31) that intersects the axial length direction of the first shaft (17) and is the rotating shaft of the impeller (30). In the coolant pumping-up mechanism, a heat exchanger (40) for cooling the coolant (5) is disposed below the impeller (30), and the impeller (30) supplies the coolant (5) cooled by the heat exchanger (40) to the first shaft (17) side by the rotation of the rotor (18) to cool a stator (12) and the rotor (18).
