Abstract:
This rotating machine is configured so that a surface magnet-type rotor is rotateably disposed on the inner side of a stator. The rotor comprises: a shaft member disposed along the rotational axis; and a magnet part that is provided on the outer circumferential side of the shaft member and that alternatingly forms different magnetic poles along the circumferential direction. In a cross-section orthogonal to the rotational axis, the shaft member is formed so as to have different cross-sectional areas with respect to the d-axis direction of the magnet part and the q-axis direction of the magnet part.
