Abstract:
[Problem] To prevent a decrease in braking properties and component lifetime by suppressing heat generation when braking. [Solution] Provided is a grinder (1) comprising, in a housing (2): a motor (4); a switch (9) that executes an ON/Off operation according to the operation of a switch lever (43) and thereby controls the rotation of an output shaft (12) of the motor (4); a spindle (24) that rotates in conjunction with the rotation of the output shaft (12) and that causes a disc-like grindstone (31) to rotate; and a brake mechanism (8) that can brake a brake plate (53) that rotates integrally with the output shaft (12), wherein fins (74, 74…) are provided to the brake plate (53).
