Title:
ROTATING WHEEL FOR MECHANICAL TO ELECTRICAL ENERGY CONVERSION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2002/055877
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
Rotating wheel (2) for mechanical to electrical energy conversion. It is designed to transfer the movement of the auto-rotating wheel to the power plant i.e. generator. Rotation of the wheel (2) is carried out by means of two diametrically opposite arms (3) to which gravitational levers (5) are jointed, each lever having an electromotor (4) which is used for switching the lever (59) when it arrives to the zero point on the vertical, which enables that the wheel (2) rotates further. The process is repeated each time one of the arms arrives to the same zero point.

Description:
FREE-STANDING AUTO-ROTATING WHEEL FOR MECHANICAL TO ELECTRICAL ENERGY CONVERSION DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION FIELD OF INVENTION The invention is in the energy field and it relates to an invention that is used in energy production.

TECHNICAL PROBLEM This invention contributes to solving the problems of energy, which is a serious issue in the world due to the high cost of energy and to the fact that certain energy producing plants cannot be installed in some parts of the world.

STATE OF THE ART The free-standing auto-rotating wheel for converting mechanical into electrical energy is a result of years of research in the field of physical laws in converting other energy forms, primarily mechanical, into electrical energy.

To the inventor's/applicant's knowledge, there is no solution of this technical problem given in the way described in this application.

ESSENCE OF THE INVENTION Primary objective of the invention is the production of electrical energy without any external or additional energy. It has an advantage over the existing solutions that are used world-wide, that it could be installed on any solid ground anywhere on Earth.

It has this advantage due to the solid construction that is partly below the surface of the ground or embedded in concrete, which, at certain height, makes the whole system compact. The shaft with bearings is mounted onto the construction, i. e. onto the supporting prop and it carries the

wheel used as a double drive belt with a chain that goes further over the chain wheel to the generator that produces electrical energy.

On the wheel itself, there are two pairs of diametrically opposite arms with their projections to which gravitation levers are jointed, with electromotors fixed at the ends of levers.

The wheel is actuated according to the Fig. 2, where the first and the second arm have crossed the zero point of the vertical with respect to the plane on which the construction i. e. prop is mounted. After the first arms are actuated by means of gravity, their weight and arm length from the central point in the direction opposite to the arm increases the power and speed of the wheel rotation until it reaches the lower point of the vertical point of departure. This very process of the speed increase is the result of the wheel rotation at the opposite side, initiating the process of drawing in of the gravitation lever towards the centre of the circle, position 1 in Fig. 2, up to the vertical, which causes a weight imbalance in diametrically opposite arms towards the centre and the rotation of the wheel.

At the moment when the first arm arrives to the zero point (vertical), a switching mechanism, that at a certain stage switches the arm of the gravitation lever, turns on the first electromotor.

The procedure is repeated each time one of the arms arrives to that point.

SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The accompanying drawings, that are included in the description and that are a part of the description, illustrate what is, so far, considered to be the best way of the invention embodiment, and help at explaining basic principles of the invention.

Fig. 1 shows spatial view of the prop with the wheel, Fig. 2 shows auto-rotating wheel in its functional operation with the energy generator, Fig. 3 shows the wheel with the arm that holds the gravitation lever with the electromotor.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF AT LEAST ONE OF THE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION Referring to Fig. 1 that shows spatial view of the prop (1) being fixed to the ground firmly enough to withstand the turning of the wheel (2) that has an arm (3) to which the joint of the

gravitation lever (5) carrying the electromotor (4) is fixed, the whole auto-rotating wheel reclines on the shaft (11) Fig. 3.

As it can be best viewed from Fig. 2, on the auto-rotating wheel (2) around the whole circumference there is a chain (6) that goes across the chain-tensioning device (7) and the chain wheel (8) that drives the electric energy generator (9). In the very centre of the wheel (10) there is a switching device. In its zero point, at the vertical, at the predetermined moment, the device switches the electromotor (4) by means of the gravitation lever joint (5) to the vertical position.

This causes the gravity of the lever towards the ground, while diametrically opposite gravitation levers (5) on the arm (3), as they are moving upwardly, fall back towards the centre of the arm (3) and the wheel (2), until they reach the zero point at the vertical again, where the process of activating the electromotor (4), which switches the arm (3) with the gravitation lever (5), takes place again.

Fig. 3 shows the auto-rotating wheel (2) with only one of the arms (3) presented and shows the position of the joint for the gravitation lever together with the electromotor.

The device for switching the movable gravitation lever (5) activates the electromotor when it is at the vertical zero point, while the whole wheel reclines and rotates on the main shaft of the auto-rotating wheel, Fig. 2 and Fig. 3.

THE MANNER OF APPLICATION OF THE INVENTION The invention can be used widely, and it could be used at many places on Earth, especially in deserts and any other places where there is a need for saving energy necessary to drive known energy plants.

Depending on its proportions, it is possible to extract high active power from this invention by means of the electrical energy generator.
