This rotation angle detection device includes: an intermediate signal generation unit which generates an intermediate signal on the basis of a multiplication of a sine signal and a cosine signal based on a rotation angle of a rotator; a first multiplication unit which multiplies the intermediate signal by any one among the sine signal and the cosine signal; an addition and subtraction unit which adds the other among the sine signal and the cosine signal to an output from the first multiplication unit or subtracts the output from the first multiplication unit from the other among the sine signal and the cosine signal; and a first rotation angle calculation unit which calculates a rotation angle of the rotator on the basis of an output from the addition and subtraction unit and any one among the sine signal and the cosine signal. The intermediates signal generation unit includes: a first multiplier which calculates a multiplication of the sine signal and the cosine signal; and a first low pass filter which removes, from an output from the first multiplier, frequency components that are equal to or greater than double the frequencies of fundamental waves of the sine signal and the cosine signal.
