Abstract:
Provided is a rotation transmission device which, when the orientation of a steering part of a steer-by-wire steering device reaches the stroke end, makes it possible for the driver to definitively perceive said state through the steering wheel. This device is equipped with: a holder (25) which holds an engaging part (24) between the shaft (4) of the steering wheel (1) and the outer ring (21) thereof, and is capable of moving in the circumferential direction between an engaging position for engaging both elements (4, 21) and a release position for releasing said engagement; a centering spring (26) which is prevented from turning by the shaft (4) and the holder (25); an electromagnetic brake (27) for executing holder (25) braking; and a brake case (28). The brake case (28) and the outer ring (21) are permitted to rotate relative to one another within a prescribed angle range, and are connected so as to prohibit relative rotation which exceeds said range. An elastic member (33) biases both elements (28, 21) toward the center position in said range.
