Title:
ROTATIONAL DRIVE DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/098218
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to reduce the weight and size of the tooth skipping detection structure of a speed reducer in a rotational drive device. The rotational drive device detects the occurrence of tooth skipping of the speed reducer on the basis of a difference in the outputs of encoders provided on rotation shafts on the input-side (motor-side) and output-side (load-side) with the speed reducer therebetween. The rotational drive device is provided with: a motor; a speed reducer disposed between the motor and a load for reducing the speed of rotation of the motor-side rotation shaft and transmitting the reduced speed rotation to the load-side rotation shaft; a first encoder for detecting the rotation of the motor-side rotation shaft of the speed reducer; a second encoder for detecting the rotation of the load-side rotation shaft of the speed reducer; a difference detection unit for determining the difference between a first detection value, which is obtained by dividing the output of the first encoder by the speed reduction ratio of the speed reducer, and a second detection value, which is obtained from the output of the second encoder; and a tooth skipping detection unit for detecting the occurrence of tooth skipping of the speed reducer on the basis of the difference.
