The present invention relates to the field of network protocols. Disclosed is a routing protocol of a centralized identifier network (CIN), comprising an application layer, a data link layer, and a physical layer and further comprising an identifier/locator layer. The identifier/locator layer is located between the application layer and the data link layer; the identifier/locator layer decouples an identifier attribute and a locator attribute of an IP address; and an identifier/locator mapping entry of a host in the protocol needs to be saved in a global identifier/locator mapping database (ILMD) and an identifier/locator mapping cache (ILMC). The advantageous effects of the present invention are that: the present invention implements the compatibility between an identifier/locator separation network and a current IPv6 network by adding an IPv6 extension header, without modifying a host protocol stack; and a simple and effective method which does not require a convergence server is provided to solve the problem regarding mobility.
