Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention disclose an RRC connection re-establishment method, comprising: a target base station receiving an RRC connection re-establishment request sent by a mobile terminal, and then sending a base station configuration transmission message to an MME on the basis of the RRC connection re-establishment request, so that the MME sends to a source base station an MME configuration transmission message generated on the basis of the base station configuration transmission message; and after receiving a handover request sent by the MME, the target base station sending an RRC connection re-establishment message to the mobile terminal on the basis of a context of the mobile terminal. The embodiments of the invention further disclose a mobile terminal, a base station, and an MME that can implement the RRC connection re-establishment method. The invention can solve a problem in which a target base station cannot obtain a context of a mobile terminal from a source base station when an X2 link does not exist between the target base station and the source base station, and improve a success rate of RRC connection re-establishment.
