Abstract:
A multiple-strand-structure cord comprising a plurality of sheath strands formed each by stranding a plurality of filaments and arranged around a core strand formed by stranding a plurality of filaments, wherein at least one of the core strand and each of sheath strands has a structure in which one or a plurality of layers of sheaths each consisting of a plurality of filaments are stranded around a core of one or a plurality of filaments, and filaments constituting the outermost sheath layer are larger in diameter than those constituting at least any one inner layer, whereby the in-advance rupture of part of filaments is prevented to enhance the endurance performance of the steel cord.
