Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a rubber composition for heavy-load tires, the rubber composition having exceptionally low heat-buildup when made into a tire and exceptional flowability of the rubber during vulcanization, and a pneumatic tire produced using this rubber composition. This rubber composition for heavy-load tires contains diene rubber and carbon black. The diene rubber contains natural rubber and a modified polymer obtained by modifying a conjugated diene polymer using a nitrone compound, the natural rubber content in the diene rubber being 60 mass% or higher, the modified polymer content in the diene rubber being 40 mass% or lower, and the carbon black content being 30-70 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the diene rubber.
