Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a rubber composition for a tire tread, said rubber composition exhibiting excellent workability, and, when configured as a tire, excellent wet performance, excellent low-rolling resistance, and excellent wear resistance; and a pneumatic tire in which said composition is used for a tire tread thereof. This rubber composition for a tire tread includes: a rubber component including at least 30 mass% of a conjugated diene-based rubber (A); silica (B); and a prescribed alkyltriethoxysilane (C). The conjugated diene-based rubber (A) includes at least 5 mass% of a specific structure (a). The silica (B) has a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (N2SA) of 194-225 m2/g, and a CTAB specific surface area (CTAB) of 180-210 m2/g. The silica (B) content is 60-150 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component. The alkyltriethoxysilane (C) content is 2.5-8.0 mass% of the silica (B) content.
