The purpose of the present invention is to provide a rubber composition that can have both a high level of reinforcement properties and low-loss properties.　The rubber composition according to the present invention comprises a rubber component and silica, and is characterized in that the silica has a CTAB adsorption specific surface area of 250 m2/g or more, the diameter (DCPS) and primary particle size (DI) of an aggregate as measured by disc centrifuge particle size analysis satisfy relationship expression (1): 700 ≥ DCPS 3/DI 3 ≥ 300, the rubber component contains at least one selected from modified butadiene rubbers and modified styrene-butadiene rubbers, and the at least one selected from modified butadiene rubbers and modified styrene-butadiene rubbers is modified by at least one selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbyloxysilane compounds represented by formula (IV), hydrocarbyloxysilanes compound represented by formula (V), and coupling agents represented by formula (VI).
