The invention provides a treadmill with a running belt capable of being reduced automatically, comprising a base (1) and a handrail frame (2). The handrail frame (2) comprises a longitudinal connecting frame (21) and a handrail bar (22), and a lower end of the longitudinal connecting frame (21) is connected to a front end of the base (1). The handrail bar (22) is fixedly disposed at an upper end of the longitudinal connecting frame (21), and the base (1) comprises a seat body (11) and a running belt (12). A driving shaft (3) is rotatably connected to a front end of the seat body (11), and the base body (11) is provided with a driven shaft (4) in a rotating manner near a rear end of the base body (11). A main motor (7) is connected to the driving shaft (3), and at least two sets of photoelectric sensors (5) are disposed at an upper end of the seat body (11) near a rear end of the running belt (12). The photoelectric sensor (5) is electrically connected to a speed reducer (6), and the speed reducer (6) is electrically connected to the main motor (7). The photoelectric sensor (5) comprises a photoemission end (51) and a photo-receiving end (52) disposed opposite each other. This treadmill prevents the user from slipping out of the rear end of the base (1).
