Abstract:
An air-cooled engine is fixed in a suspended manner to the lower portion on the rear end side of a backbone section of a vehicle body frame. The engine is placed such that the center axis of a cylinder in a cylinder block is substantially horizontal and a cylinder head faces forward. A fuel injection device is placed in the cylinder head, in the region between a suction valve and a suction port. The distance between an injection nozzle of the fuel injection device and a suction valve opening is set smaller. In idling and low-speed traveling, a portion near the head of an injector of the fuel injection device is cooled by assist air supplied from a throttle body through an auxiliary path, and in normal operation and high-speed traveling, the fuel injection device is cooled by wind that the cylinder head receives.
