Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to providing a configuration in an internal combustion engine with a plurality of cylinders mounted on a saddle riding-type vehicle, said configuration enabling an exhaust gas sensor to be suitably disposed upstream of an exhaust purification catalyst while ensuring sufficient capability to protect the exhaust gas sensor. A saddle riding-type vehicle 10 according to one embodiment comprises: a common exhaust pipe 70 where a plurality of exhaust pipes 68 connected to exhaust ports of respective cylinders gather; an exhaust purification catalyst 54a disposed downstream of the common exhaust pipe 70; and an exhaust gas sensor 60 provided upstream of the exhaust purification catalyst 54a. Each of the plurality of exhaust pipes extends from the corresponding exhaust port located above a crankshaft. The catalyst is disposed below the crankshaft, and is also disposed in a position overlapping the crankshaft in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. At least a part of the exhaust gas sensor is provided so as to extend into a region between the plurality of exhaust pipes 68 and an engine body 34B.
