Abstract:

A safety cap which requiring a skill of hands when opening a lid, and difficult for a small child to open the lid. The safety cap can release the safety function when necessary. On at least one side of a skirt (3) of a cap body (1), a locking piece (9) is provided with its base end part fixed to a lower part of the skirt so that the locking piece can be pressed inwardly in an oscillating manner. First and second engaging means (10) and (18) allow an outer surface of a tip part of the locking piece to face an inner surface of an outer cylinder (14), and are engaged with these surfaces to maintain a lid−closed condition. The engagement is released by inwardly pressing the locking piece (9), and the locking piece (9) can be transferred without any pressing operation to a second position where both engaging means are separated from each other from a basic position where the first and second engaging means (10) and (18) are engaged with each other except when the locking piece is inwardly pressed against the elastic restoring force.
