[Problem] To provide a safety device for a vehicle seat, said safety device being capable of preventing warping in the width direction of a seat back when a vehicle collision occurs, and thus being capable of properly restraining an occupant. [Solution] The present invention relates to a safety device for a vehicle seat that comprises a reclining mechanism capable of adjusting the angle of a seat back and protects an occupant who is seated in the vehicle seat. A seat belt is configured to extend in a diagonal direction, from an upper end section on a first side in the width direction of the seat back, toward a lower end on a second side, which is the opposite side from the first side. In a rotational shaft section that serves as a shaft when the seat back reclines, an adjustment means is provided that allows the rotation quantities on the first side and the second side of the seat back to vary when a vehicle collision occurs.
