Abstract:

[Problem] To provide a salt water desalination device that can reduce the load on a salt water supply pump and the consumption of electricity. [Solution] This salt water desalination device (1) is provided with: a salt water supply means (2) that supplies salt water to a reverse osmosis membrane member (3); a forward osmosis membrane member (4) to which concentrated salt water (51) discharged from the reverse osmosis membrane member (3) is supplied; and an auxiliary device (5) to which a mixed water (52) discharged from the forward osmosis membrane member (4) is supplied and which is also connected to the salt water supply means (2). The auxiliary device (5) increases at least one of electric power supplied to the salt water supply means (2), force applied to the salt water supply means, and rotary power to the salt water supply means.
