Abstract:
A sample holder for X-ray fluorescence analysis is used for preprocessing a liquid sample and performing X-ray fluorescence analysis of the contained component. The background is suppressed and the detection limit can be enhanced sufficiently by generating fluorescent X-rays of higher intensity uniformly. The sample holder (5) used for preprocessing a liquid sample (1) and performing X-ray fluorescence analysis of the contained component comprises a ring-like base (2), a hydrophobic film (3) of 10 μm or less in thickness having a peripheral part (3a) held on the base (2) and an X-ray transmitting part (3b), and a sheet-like liquid absorber (4) of 1-100 μm in thickness attached to the transmitting part (3b) of the hydrophobic film (3). The liquid sample (1) is dripped onto the liquid absorber (4) and dried, thus holding the contained component.
