Abstract:
A satellite communication system which is provided with: a plurality of earth station devices each housing a terminal device that establishes a session with a dedicated control message and performs communication; and a control earth station device for receiving/transmitting control signals via a relay satellite and through control lines to the plurality of earth station devices, and which performs communication between the terminal devices using line switching of communication lines between earth station devices that are connected via a single-hop connection. Out of the plurality of earth station devices, a first earth station device which houses a transmission side first terminal device capsulizes with a control signal a control message received from the first terminal device, forwards via a control line the capsulized control message to a second earth station device which houses a reception side second terminal device, and performs line switching of the communication line to the second earth station device on the basis of the control message. Thus, it is possible to perform line switching in satellite lines of simple transmission frequency fixed assignment type.
