Abstract:
The present application provides a satellite ephemeris update method and a communication apparatus. The method comprises: a first network element determines whether an ephemeris in a terminal device needs to be updated; the first network element sends first information to the terminal device, the first information comprising the updated ephemeris or indication information that the ephemeris has not changed. Optionally, the first network element may be a core network element. For example, the first network element may be an AMF, an SMF, or the like. According to the ephemeris update method provided by the present application, notifying a terminal device of ephemeris update information in time allows for the terminal device to obtain the updated ephemeris in time and effectively, thereby reducing the time delay for the terminal device to access a satellite cell, and thus improving the communication efficiency and the user experience.
