Abstract:
A scanning antenna (1000) is a scanning antenna in which antenna units (U) are arranged, and comprises: a TFT substrate (101A) including a first dielectric substrate (1), a TFT, a gate bus line, a source bus line, patch electrodes (15), and a first alignment film (32A) covering the patch electrodes; a slot substrate (201A) including a second dielectric substrate (51), a slot electrode (55), and a second alignment film (42A) covering the slot electrodes; a liquid crystal layer (LC) provided between the TFT substrate and the slot substrate; and a reflecting conductor plate (65). The slot electrode includes slots (57) positioned corresponding to each of the patch electrodes. A seal portion includes a main seal portion (73a) demarcating at least one injection opening (74a). With respect to the injection opening, if a direction from the injection opening toward the liquid crystal layer, from among directions orthogonal to a seal pattern of the main seal portion in the injection opening, is defined as a flow direction (Df), and a region of the liquid crystal layer in the vicinity of the injection opening, which is a region that includes a region extending in the flow direction from the injection opening, is defined as a first region (Rf1), then angles between the flow direction and each of an alignment direction defined by the first alignment film in the first region, and an alignment direction defined by the second alignment film in the first region are each at most equal to 20º or at least equal to 160º.
