Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to achieve downsizing of a scanning electromagnet and simultaneously to minimize errors of the angle at which a charged particle beam is deflected. The present invention pertains to a scanning electromagnet for deflecting the trajectory of a charged particle beam. A winding wire U is provided to a groove SL1 and a groove SL4 both disposed opposite to each other. When the passing direction of a conductive wire constituting the winding wire U is defined as passing the groove SL1 in a γ-axis positive direction, the conductive wire constituting the winding wire U passes the groove SL4 in a γ-axis negative direction. In other words, the conductive wire constituting the winding wire U circles around a loop path SL1-SL2 that passes the groove SL1 in the γ-axis positive direction and passes the groove SL4 in the γ-axis negative direction. When electric current flows in the γ-axis positive direction through a winding wire section U+ disposed in the groove SL4, a winding wire section U- disposed in the groove SL4 has an electric current flowing in the γ-axis negative direction. A yoke 10, the winding wire U, a winding wire V, and a winding wire W form a structure with 120° rotational symmetry with respect to the central axis of the yoke 10.
