Provided in the present application are a screen display method, and a terminal device and a storage medium. The method comprises: when a folding screen of a terminal device is in a folded state, displaying a first interface on a first display screen, the first interface comprising a plurality of application icons; and in response to a first operation of a user with regard to the terminal device, unfolding the terminal device into an unfolded state, and displaying a second interface on a second display screen, the second interface comprising a first area and a second area, wherein the first area comprises a plurality of application icons, the interaction of the second area is isolated from the interaction of the first area, and the second area comprises a widget and/or a card; and in response to a second operation of the user in the first area, the content in the first area changes, while the content in the second area does not change, and/or, in response to a third operation of the user in the second area, the content in the second area changes, while the content in the first area does not change. The method provided in the present application can enable a terminal device to display more content in an unfolded state, which facilitates an improvement in the efficiency of screen display.
