The punch comprises a shaft (1) whose lower end (3) is provided with a screw blade (4). Its upper end (22) is connected with a drive (24) for rotation of the shaft about its longitudinal axis and with a mechanism for loading the shaft (1) with loads, the vector of each of which coincides with the longitudinal axis of the shaft and is directed towards the layer (2) of the soil to be tested, the blade (4) reaching this layer (2) of soil to be tested. The punch is provided with a means (19) connected to the shaft (1) and intended for generation of controlled axial loads (P4) applied to the shaft (1) when the screw blade (4) reaches a depth (L1) which is less than the depth (L2) of the layer (2) of the soil to be tested by a value (L3) exceeding the pitch (t) of the screw blade (4), and is further provided with a sensor (6) for measuring the pressure (P3) of the soil on the lower surface (5) of the screw blade (4). The punch has a control unit (7) connected to the sensor (6) and to the means (19).
