Provided is a high-efficiency scroll compressor in which oil carry-over is reduced. The scroll compressor is provided with: a fixed scroll having a fixed-side flat-plate part, and a fixed-side lap standing on one surface of the fixed-side flat-plate part and holding a spiral shape; a rotating scroll having a rotating-side flat-plate part, and a rotating-side lap standing on one surface of the rotating-side flat-plate part and holding a spiral shape, the rotating scroll rotating relative to the fixed scroll while the rotating-side lap and the fixed-side lap intermesh, thereby forming a compression chamber; an airtight container having an oil reservoir part for accumulating refrigerating machine oil in a bottom part; a frame affixed to the airtight container; an electric motor for driving the rotating scroll via a shaft; and a bearing for rotatably holding the shaft on the frame. The scroll compressor comprises a flange part positioned between the electric motor and the bearing, the flange part rotating integrally with the shaft, whereby the refrigerating machine oil flowing from the bearing is expelled to the outside. The diameter of the flange part is larger than the diameter of the bearing.
