Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a scroll expander that can suppress an increase in length in the axial direction thereof while integrally providing a bypass pathway and a bypass valve that opens/closes same. [Solution] This scroll expander (23) is provided with: an intake port (513) into which a high-pressure working fluid flows and that leads to an expansion chamber the working fluid that is flowing in; a discharge port (523) out from which flows the working fluid that has become low-pressure as a result of expansion at the expansion chamber; a bypass pathway (27) that bypasses the expansion chamber and interconnects the intake port and the discharge port; and a bypass valve (28) that opens/closes the bypass pathway. A bypass valve attachment section (514) for attaching the intake port (513), bypass pathway (27), and bypass valve (28) is formed at the substrate of a stationary scroll (51).
