Abstract:
The present invention provides: a sea-island type composite multifilament which comprises a thermoplastic elastomer resin as an island component; and an ultrafine multifilament which is obtained from this sea-island type composite multifilament. With respect to this sea-island type composite multifilament, the island component is configured from a thermoplastic elastomer resin (A) that has one of a Shore A hardness of 90 or less, a Shore D hardness of 60 or less, and a Rockwell hardness (R scale) of 70 or less; the sea component is configured from a water-soluble or highly alkali-soluble thermoplastic resin (B); and the average single island diameter is 8000 nm or less.
