Abstract:
Provided is a seal body with which high liquid-tightness can be maintained even when a rotor is operating; also provided is a rotary damper equipped with this seal body. The rotary damper 100 is equipped with a housing 101. The housing 101 is provided with a rotor 130 inside a housing main body 102, and is closed off by a cover 120. An inner chamber 103 of the housing main body 101 is partitioned into four individual chambers by movable vanes 136, 137 provided on the rotor 130, and stationary vanes 104, 105. The tip-end portions of the stationary vanes 104, 105 and the movable vanes 136, 137 are provided respectively with a stationary vane seal body 110 and a movable vane seal body 140. The stationary vane seal body 110 and the movable vane seal body 140 respectively have formed therein fluid guide grooves 114, 144, and cavity formation grooves 112a, 112b, 142a, and 142b on side surfaces 111a, 111b, 141a, and 141b.
