Abstract:
The feeder of the invention comprises a vibration feeder having a trough formed with a fall hole for feeding an agglomerated product and/or powder into a furnace, and a duct for guiding the agglomerated product and/or powder falling down through the fall hole onto the hearth of the heating furnace. Further, the seal mechanism comprises a water seal mechanism composed of a skirt plate, a weir plate, a duct side surface, and a liquid, the water seal mechanism having its skirt plate disposed so as to surround the outer peripheral edge of the upper end of the duct, and having its lower end opening disposed on the lower surface side of the trough so as to be positioned below the level of the upper end of the duct, the weir plate being disposed so as to surround the peripheral edge of the lower end of the skirt plate and having its upper end opening directed upward from the heating furnace ceiling so as to be positioned above the level of the lower end of the skirt plate, the liquid stagnating in a tank defined by the duct side surface and weir plate, so that the liquid surface is above the level of the lower end of the skirt plate.
