Abstract:
A sealed battery (10) is provided with a current cut-off valve (22) and a connecting member (30) that is formed with an engagement hole (34) in a location adjacent to the current cut-off valve (22); the current cut-off valve (22) is conductively connected with the connecting member (30) by being joined in linear fashion with the periphery of the engagement hole (34) and/or by being joined at a surface that is in contact with the inside wall of the engagement hole (34) in a state in which part thereof fits into the engagement hole (34). When the internal pressure of a battery casing (40) rises above a prescribed level, the current cut-off valve is deformed towards the outside of the casing by this internal pressure, so that the current cut-off valve (22) is separated from the connecting member, and electrical connection between the connecting member (30) and the current cut-off valve (22) is thereby broken.
