Abstract:
A high-pressure-chamber-type sealed electric compressor that comprises, in a sealed container: a compression mechanism part that compresses a coolant; and an electric motor that drives the compression mechanism part. The electric motor comprises a stator and a rotor. A polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) material is used as a resin insulation material that is used in the stator. The coolant has a low global warming potential, is incombustible, and absorbs water. The coolant is, for example, trifluoroiodomethane (CF3I) alone or a mixed coolant that includes trifluoroiodomethane.
