Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a sealing device configured so that insertion resistance and rotational resistance which are caused by the elasticity of packing are not generated, thereby enabling the sealing device to be smoothly assembled. [Solution] This sealing device has: a housing 12; a seal ring 13 which is inserted in the inner periphery of the housing 12 so as to be capable of being axially displaced and which has a front end surface 13a and a rear end surface 13b which defines a packing mounting space 13c; a packing 14 which seals between the housing 12 and the seal ring 13 and which is disposed within the packing mounting space 13c; and a spring means 15 which is disposed on the rear end surface 13b side of the seal ring 13 and which elastically urges the seal ring 13 toward the front end surface 13a.
