Abstract:
This sealing device comprises: an annular reinforcing ring fixed to a housing; an annular elastic member having a fixed part which is fixed to the reinforcing ring, and a lip which protrudes from the fixed part and is in sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of a shaft; and at least one annular spring which is disposed so as to sandwich the lip together with the outer peripheral surface of the shaft and presses the lip against the outer peripheral surface of the shaft. The elastic member is composed of a conductive elastic material. The lip surface contacting the outer peripheral surface of the shaft has a linear shape in a natural state when viewed in a cross-section defined by a plane including the center axis of the elastic member. The entire width of the at least one spring is greater than the thickness of the at least one spring.
