Abstract:
A sealing member for a cartridge of an inkjet printer is comprised of a sealing end, which may seal an ink outlet of the cartridge. It is characterized that this sealing end has a cylindrical shape. A cavity having a cylindrical shape is provided in the sealing member. The diameter of the cavity is larger than that of an ink-supplying needle of the printer. The sealing end for sealing the ink outlet of the cartridge may be a cylindrical surface or at least one ring of a sealing flange on the cylindrical surface. One end may be a closed plane that prevents ink from flowing out of the ink outlet after the cartridge has been separated from the printer. And the other end may be such a plane that a small hole is provided in the center thereof. The size of the small hole may seal the ink-supplying needle of the printer. This sealing member may be not only used to seal the ink-supplying needle of the printer after the cartridge has been mounted on the printer, but also used to prevent ink from leaking after the cartridge has been separated from the printer.
