Abstract:
This annular sealing member includes, on the inner radius side of the sealing member, a first protruding section that protrudes from a base section in a direction perpendicular to the radial direction, and a second protruding section that protrudes from the base section in an outwardly radial direction of the sealing member. In a cross-sectional view of the sealing member, the sealing member has an inside surface of the first protruding section and a lower surface of the second protruding section, and the inside surface of the first protruding section and the lower surface of the second protruding section are both sealing surfaces that exhibit a sealing function with respect to the same sealed surface. In this sealing member, the lower surface of the second protruding section is used as the sealing surface, and when the sealing performance of the lower surface of the second protruding section has deteriorated, the inside surface of the first protruding section can be used as the sealing surface. As a result, the sealing member can be reused once without replacing the sealing member with a new sealing member even when the sealing performance of the sealing member has deteriorated.
