Provided is a search system which can perform search processing using multiple indices in response to a single search query. This search server performs search processing on the basis of a search query containing one or more search words, and is provided with multiple index generation units which generate indices used during search processing in response to an arbitrary search query, multiple search units which use the multiple indices to perform search processing of the body to be searched, and an output unit which outputs the search result obtained by the search processing. When a search query is received, this search server uses the indices to perform search processing in response to the received search query, acquires search result data from the search processing in which the indices were used, and outputs information in order to display the search results contained in at least a portion of the acquired search data.
