Abstract:

The present invention suppresses the occurrence of a welding rod insertion defect or similar.　In this secondary battery, an electrode wound body, a positive electrode current collector plate, and a negative electrode current collector plate are housed in a battery can, said electrode wound body having a strip-shaped positive electrode and a strip-shaped negative electrode layered therein with a separator interposed therebetween. In the electrode wound body, one or each of a positive electrode active material non-covered section and a negative electrode active material non-covered section has a flat surface that is formed by folding toward a center axis of a wound structure and overlapping, and a groove that is formed in the flat surface. In a cross-sectional view resulting from cross-sectioning with a plane that passes through the center axis, a hole section that is formed in the bent portion has a first diameter and a second diameter that are substantially parallel to the layering direction. The first diameter is located to the electrode wound body interior side of the second diameter, and the diameter increases in a substantially continuous manner from the first diameter to the second diameter.
