Abstract:
The present invention is for minimizing the occurrence of welding failure as much as possible. In this secondary battery, a negative electrode comprises: a first negative electrode active material covering part in which a first main surface of a belt‐shaped negative electrode foil is covered with a negative electrode active material layer; a first negative electrode active material non-covering part extending in the longitudinal direction of the negative electrode foil; and a first insulating layer provided between the first negative electrode active material covering part and the first negative electrode active material non-covering part. The negative electrode further comprises: a second negative electrode active material covering part in which a second main surface, being the other main surface, of the negative electrode foil is covered with a negative electrode active material layer; a second negative electrode active material non-covering part extending in the longitudinal direction of the negative electrode foil; and a second insulating layer provided between the second negative electrode active material covering part and the second negative electrode active material non-covering part. When a cross section obtained by cutting an electrode winding body along a plane including the center axis on at least the negative electrode side thereof is viewed, the first main surface faces the center axis of the electrode winding body, and further, the length of the first insulating layer is shorter than the length of the second insulating layer.
