Abstract:

This secondary battery comprises a positive electrode 31 and a negative electrode 32 which are wound with separators 33, 34 interposed therebetween. The positive electrode 31 and the negative electrode 32 each comprises a metal foil 31a, 32a and a mixture layer 31b, 32b formed on said metal foil 31a, 32a, and comprises a foil exposed portion 31c, 32c where the metal foil 31a, 32a is exposed to one side in the width direction. The positive electrode 31 or the negative electrode 32 has an insulating layer 35 which covers the mixture layer 31b, 32b, and the tip of a tapered portion 32t of the mixture layer 32b is exposed from the insulating layer 35; said tapered portion 32t is adjacent to the foil exposed portion 31c, 32c and has a thickness that gradually decreases towards the film exposed portion 31c, 32c.
