Title:
SECONDARY BATTERY PROTECTION CIRCUIT AND SECONDARY BATTERY MODULE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/136508
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Secondary batteries deteriorate when being repeatedly charged and discharged, resulting in reduction in battery voltage and battery capacity. The present invention extends life of a secondary battery by preventing the secondary battery from being charged with an excessive charging current value caused by deterioration of the secondary battery. The extension of life of the secondary battery is achieved through charging control performed in consideration of the deterioration level of the secondary battery. During charging of the secondary battery, a charging control circuit controls a preset current value, and a charging current control circuit (specifically, a circuit including an error amplifier) included in the protection circuit determines the value of current flowing through the secondary battery. In other words, the value of the current flowing through the secondary battery is controlled by both the charging control circuit and the charging current control circuit which is a part of the protection circuit.
