Abstract:
The present invention relates to a secondary battery, and the secondary battery according to the present invention comprises: an electrode assembly in which electrodes and separators are alternately stacked and wound; a cylindrical can having an accommodation portion accommodating the electrode assembly and having an open top; and a cap assembly covering the opening of the can, wherein the cap assembly includes a safety vent having a notched portion that ruptures when the internal pressure of a battery increases, the notched portion is formed in a circular shape from the planar view, the electrode assembly includes an electrode tab connected to the electrodes, the safety vent is connected to the electrode tab and an external terminal, and the electrode tab and the external terminal are connected to different sides of the inner side and the outer side on the basis of the notched portion from the planar view in the safety vent.
