This security camera device, which is retrofitted into an elevator car and captures an image of the interior of the car, comprises: an image-capturing unit (1001); a power supply unit (1003) that receives power (arrows A and B) and supplies the power to the device (arrow C); an electricity storage unit (1004) that stores electricity; a power supply monitoring unit (1005) that monitors the status of the power supply unit (1003); a power supply control unit (1006) that switches the supply of power (arrow C) from the power supply unit (1003) to the device to the supply of power (arrow E) from the electricity storage unit (1004) according to the power supply monitoring status; and a display unit (1009) that displays on a display screen (102) a message urging the occupants of the car to report to a predetermined contact, instead of an advertisement, when the power supply is switched to that from the electricity storage unit (1004). Thus, the stable operation of the security camera function can be ensured by more reliably securing the power supply required for capturing images.
