Abstract:
Provided is a semiconductor device which, from the result of a calculation by an artificial neural network, updates the weighting factors that were used for the calculation. This semiconductor device has first to third circuits and first to third memory cells. Each of the first to third memory cells has a function to draw a current corresponding to the data at a retention node, and a function to change the data at the retention node in accordance with the potentials of first and second wiring. When each of the retention nodes of the first to third memory cells retains a weighting factor and first and second reference data, the first circuit supplies, to third wiring, a first current corresponding to the current drawn by the second and third memory cells. When input data is input to the first wiring, the difference in current between the first current and the current drawn by the first memory cell changes, and the second circuit outputs calculation result data corresponding to the amount of change. The third circuit inputs, to the second wiring, update data corresponding to the calculation result data.
