Abstract:
Provided is a semiconductor device that has a biometric authentication function and a touch sensor or near touch sensor function. The semiconductor device has a light-emitting device and an imaging device. The imaging device has a gate driver circuit and an m row of pixels (m being an integer of at least 2). The gate driver circuit has a plurality of first register circuits and a number of second register circuits fewer than the number of first register circuits. The first register circuits are mutually connected in series and the second register circuits are mutually connected in series. The gate driver circuit has a function that operates in a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, the first register circuits are in an on state and the second register circuits are in an off state. In the second mode, the second register circuits are in the on state and the first register circuits are in the off state.
