Title:
SEMICONDUCTOR NANOPARTICLES DISPERSED GLASS FINE PARTICLES AND PROCESS FOR PREPARING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/034877
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This invention provides semiconductor nanoparticles dispersed fine silica-based
glass fine particles, which can emit bright fluorescence with luminescence
efficiency and luminescence density superior to those of the conventional semiconductor
nanoparticles dispersed glass fine particles and are excellent, for example,
in temporal stability of fluorescence intensity, and a process for preparing
the same. The semiconductor nanoparticles dispersed glass fine particles comprise
semiconductor nanoparticles dispersed in a concentration of not less than 2
× 10-5 mol/liter and not more than 1 × 10-2 mol/liter
in fine silica-based glass fine particles having an average particle diameter
of not less than 10 nm and not more than 5 μm and containing a hydrolyzate
of an alkoxide. The luminescence efficiency (quantum efficiency) of fluorescence
in a solution containing the semiconductor nanoparticles dispersed glass fine
particles dispersed therein is not less than 25%(even not less than 60%).
