Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed to create, update, organize, re-organize, and retrieve digital representations of information. While prevailing models for information, such as knowledge graphs, are based on universal and crisp primitives (named entities, relationships, etc.) which are estimated from large amounts of noisy data, the disclosed invention represents information by means of dynamic and adaptive semiotic structures which track the fluctuating, user-dependent, and context-dependent relationship between symbols and their interpretations. Instead of forcing users to adopt external terminologies and organizational schemes, the disclosed invention provides the means (comprising parametric symbols, structured linguistic symbols, symbol aggregates, coherent frames, contextualized symbols, dynamic semiotic structures) to let users introduce their own terminologies to represent, organize, and re-organize their entities of interest and information about them.
