Abstract:
A problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a semipermeable membrane support that is unlikely to cause damage to a semipermeable membrane or to be penetrated by a semipermeable membrane solution and that improves the peeling strength between the semipermeable membrane and the semipermeable membrane support, or a semipermeable membrane support that is unlikely to cause damage to a semipermeable membrane and has improved salt blocking rate. The semipermeable membrane support is composed of a wet non-woven fabric including a main synthetic fiber and a binder synthetic fiber, the fiber orientation strength of the coating surface on which the semipermeable membrane is to be provided is 1.00-1.30, the fiber orientation strength of the non-coating surface is 1.00-1.50, the average area of the semipermeable membrane remaining on the coating surface of the semipermeable membrane support when the semipermeable membrane is peeled off at the interface between the semipermeable membrane and the semipermeable membrane support is 500 μm 2 or less, and the residue ratio of the semipermeable membrane is 2.5-5.0%, or the semipermeable membrane support in which the number of detached fibers in a tape peeling test is 30 or less and a level difference of a core portion that is obtained by measuring the surface roughness of the coating surface on which the semipermeable membrane is to be provided by a confocal laser microscope is 14 μm or less.
