Abstract:
Provided is a means for non-destructively and rapidly determining the senescence level of cultured target cells such as myoblasts. During a centrifugation treatment, the shape of cells, said cells having been separated from the surface of a culture substrate, returns from a flat and spread out shape to a round shape and a cell having a higher senescence level takes a longer time to return to the round shape. By using this phenomenon, the system of the present invention determines the senescence level of a cell by detecting the returning speed of the cell on the basis of the luminance, reflectance or image processing data. The optimum value of the centrifugation parameter is improved by learning, which results in an increase in the senescence level determination accuracy.
